Surveying Laboratory

Survey Laboratory serves the needs of Civil Engineering basic plane surveying and supports advanced surveying courses as well as to prepare maps and plans which are used in various constructions. Students can be well trained to use all surveying equipments like Chain, compass,Theodolite,Tacheometery,GPS and Total station and have adequate knowledge to carryout Triangulation surveying including general field marking for various engineering projects and curves setting, prepare LS & CS, contour maps and carryout surveying works related to civil engineering projects.

Chain Survey

Study of chains and its accessories, Aligning, Ranging, Chaining and Marking Perpendicular offset
Setting out works – Foundation marking using tapes single Room and Double Room
Compass Survey
Compass Traversing – Measuring Bearings & arriving included angles

Levelling - Study of levels and levelling staff

Fly levelling using Dumpy level &Tilting level
Check levelling

Theodolite - Study of Theodolite

Measurements of horizontal angles by reiteration and repetition and vertical angles
Determination of elevation of an object using single plane method when base is accessible/inaccessible.
Tachometer – Tangential system – Stadia system
Determination of Tacheometric Constants
Heights and distances by stadia Tacheometry
Heights and distances by Tangential Tacheometry
Total Station - Study of Total Station, Measuring Horizontal and vertical angles
Traverse using Total station and Area of Traverse
Determination of distance and difference in elevation between two inaccessible points using Total station

Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory

Hydraulic Engineering Laboratory has been intended to make the students aware of all the aspects which comes under the fluid flow. Hydraulics Laboratory is part of a unique research facility designed for hydraulic model studies, hydraulic performance testing and research in the fields of open channel and closed conduit hydraulics. The applications of the conservation of laws to flow through pipes and hydraulics machines are studied

Environmental Engineering Laboratory

The Environmental Engineering Laboratory has been established . to meet the academic requirements of undergraduate programme and for full-fledged consultancy activities in the field of water and waste water quality characterization for parameters such as pH value, conductivity, turbidity, BOD, COD, solids, sodium and potassium etc.,

Concrete and Highway Engineering Laboratory

The Concrete and Highway Engineering Laboratory has been established to provide good insight into different experimental methods relevant to Concrete and Highway Engineering. Concrete Laboratory provides facilities for testing cement and concrete which includes tests for compressive strength, flexural strength, fineness and mix design of concrete. This Laboratory deals with the consultancy works in testing of cement, sand, aggregates and other construction materials.
