The trios, Dr. A. E. Muthunayagam, first Vice Chancellor of Karunya Deemed University, former Secretary to Govt. of India and present Chairman of IIT board, Prof. Thomas Joseph, former Vice Principal of Karunya Institute of Technology and Director of School of Electrical Sciences of Karunya University and Dr. M.T. Nicholas, former Principal, who led Karunya Institute of Technology to a greater height and fame, are now in Loyola Institute of Technology and Science.
Very eminent personalities like Rev. Fr. Dr. N. Casimir Raj, S.J Founder Director of LIBA and former Director of XLRI and Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Xavier, S.J. former Principal of Loyola College, Chennai serve as Governing Council Members.
 
To educate the rural students and to shape them as disciplined engineers.
To train and impart necessary soft skills and communication skills with positive attitude to make our students entrepreneurs and readily employable.
To encourage inter disciplinary knowledge and understanding amongst the students leading to inventions and achievements.
To develop dynamic and socially conscious technical leaders with professional ethics, human values and character to serve our Mother land meritoriously.
 
To develop a world class Biomedical Technology Centre.
To introduce a new Discipline merging Medical and Engineering through computer modeling of human systems.
