A. GOVERNANCE |
The Architect of
this programme, Dr. M.T. Nicholas, has 28 years of
Research and Industrial experience in
ISRO with lot of exposure to the modern
educational and research establishments in USA,
UK, France, Germany, Japan and Russia. After
completing his M.S in USA in Rocket
Propulsion and with advanced training in
AEDC/NASA, he did his Ph.D in Kerala
University. During his service in ISRO, he
had established Propulsion Test facilities
costing more than Rs. 250 crores in SHAR,
THUMBA and MAHENDRAGIRI in consultation with
major Aerospace Companies.
Subsequently he served Karunya Institute of Technology,
Coimbatore for 6 years ( 3 years as the
Principal ) during which he made
arrangement to Accredit all
U.G and P.G Programmes, made arrangements to get Autonomous status, and brought up
the college to blossom as a Deemed University. In Karunya he
had been organizing and preparing all the details
related to accreditation ( by NBA and NAAC )
autonomous and presented the same to various
committees of AICTE, UGC and University. In
this process, he got wide exposure to
various good practices, systems, procedures
and methods adopted in AICTE, UGC, Bharathiyar and
Anna University. He is regarded as an expert
in running Engineering Colleges and produced
very good results and helped to place very large
number of students in many MNCs and introduced a
few research programmes. He is the Managing Trustee and the Principal.
Subsequently he served Karunya Institute of Technology,
Coimbatore for 6 years ( 3 years as the Principal) during which he guided to Accredit all U.G and P.G Programmes, made arrangements to get Autonomous status,
and brought up the college to blossom as a Deemed University. In Karunya he had been

autonomous status and presented the same to various committees of AICTE, UGC and University.

The trios, Dr. A. E. Muthunayagam, first Vice Chancellor of
Karunya Deemed University, former Secretary to Govt of India, Dept of Ocean Development
and former chairman of IIT board., Prof. Thomas Joseph, former Vice Principal of Karunya
Institute of Technology and Director of School of Electrical Sciences of Karunya University
and Dr. M.T. Nicholas, former Principal, who led Karunya Institute of Technology to greater
height and fame, are now in Loyola Institute of Technology and Science to shape
the young Indians to become world class Engineers and Managers.
The governing body has very

and at former Director of XLRI and Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Xavier, S.J former
